"The Shores"
Silver Springs Shores is a census-designated place about 10 miles southeast of central Ocala, and locals often call it "The Shores." It's the largest community in southeastern Marion County and mainly residential. Its population nearly quadrupled in a decade, from 6,539 in 2010 to 24,846 in 2020.

County rules apply
As a census-designated place rather than an incorporated city, the Shores falls under Marion County's rules. Trees on a parcel used for a single-family dwelling are exempt from the county permit; clearing a lot for construction can need one for native trees 10 inches DBH and up. See lot clearing.
Other towns on this site: Belleview, Dunnellon, Summerfield, and Ocala itself. See the full list.
